Riesling Grand Cru Kirchberg de Ribeauvillé - 2018 - MAGNUM
Dry wine of great precision with exceptional tension. The attack is lively and frank, with citrus notes. A straight wine.
This Riesling Grand Cru is ideal at the beginning of a meal, with a shrimp salad with lemon, a carpaccio of scampi or slices of fresh salmon with ginger, noble fish or goat cheese such as crottin de Chavignol.
Comments from Pascal Leonetti, Best Sommelier of France 2006:
The robe is light golden yellow, of good intensity. The disk is brilliant, limpid, transparent. The wine has a youthful appearance.
The nose is frank, pleasant, of good intensity. We perceive a dominant of racy smells, citrus fruits, lemon as well as this superb mineral definition carried on the flint.
A great finesse, a well-structured body: the Riesling Grand Cru Kirchberg de Ribeauvillé has an elegant bouquet, which develops with time remarkable aromas, characteristic of marl and limestone soils.
The attack in the mouth is lively, ample and the minerality typical. A great wine, powerful, vibrant with a precise tension.
The balance of this wine is typical of the vintage: fresh, tense and incisive. Very nice definition of terroir.
A very promising wine to keep.
